Aidan Grant is a cornet and trumpet specialist hailing from South Manchester. He first began playing in brass bands aged 12 with Sale Brass, moving swiftly from back row to solo cornet. He soon moved on to Tyldesley, and then Wingates band, where he played as the band's 2nd man for 3 years before finally moving to the KNDS Fairey Band on solo cornet. With the Fairey band Aidan has taken part in many high-profile concerts and contests, such as the prestigious British Open.

His solo career began well, picking up winning prizes in the youth categories of the annual Foden's Solo Contests on multiple occasions. He has continued this throughout his career, often partaking in recitals, both in and out of academic environments. He also came up through youth bands, having been a part of both the Foden's Youth Band and the Greater Manchester Youth Brass Band, as well as holding the principal cornet seat in both simultaneously, which gave him the opportunity to perform as a soloist in prestigious venues such as the Bridgewater hall.

Outside of his brass banding career, Aidan also has an interest in orchestral and jazz playing, having been in the Trafford Youth Orchestra and the Trafford Youth Jazz Collective, which he carried into college, successfully passing an audition to sit on 4th Trumpet in the RNCM Symphony Orchestra in his 1st year at the college, as well as taking part in big band projects during the year. Aidan is currently a second year undergraduate cornet student studying with Roger Webster and Richard Marshall, and often gets to work with guest tutors such as Tom Smith and David King.
